Aside from being one of the original founding members and principal songwriters of PABLO CRUISE, Cory Lerios is also an EMMY AWARD WINNING composer. In the mid 80’s Cory decided to quit touring with Pablo Cruise, raise a family (Cory has three sons and a very understanding wife of 28 years) and direct his prolific writing and producing talents toward film and television. Almost instantly the planets aligned and in 1986 Cory scored his first feature film for WARNER BROTHERS, the now cult classic, “ONE CRAZY SUMMER,” starring DEMI MOORE and JOHN CUSACK.
In 1987 Lerios landed his first episodic TV series, the critically acclaimed “MAX HEADROOM,” for ABC. ABC’s primetime series, “OHARA,” and “POLICE STORY,” immediately followed. Then in 1989 Cory partnered with grammy award winner arranger/composer (“the time of my life” from “Dirty Dancing”) John D’Andrea and landed the theme and underscore (11 seasons) for what eventually became the most watched television show in history according to the 1999 Guinness Book Of World Records, “BAYWATCH.” To this day, BAYWATCH still dominates the airwaves around the globe.
For the past 24 years Cory has continued to produce numerous themes and underscores for such classics as “THE NEW ADVENTURES OF FLIPPER,” “DIAGNOSIS MURDER,” “MARTIAL LAW,” “DAYS OF OUR LIVES, UNIVERSAL TELEVISION’S most successful animated tv show, “THE LAND BEFORE TIME,” as well as scoring a number one record with “CALL ME, BEEP ME,” the theme to DISNEY’S still very popular animated series “KIM POSSIBLE.” In 2005 Cory produced one of his favorite entertainers of all time “SMOKEY ROBINSON,” singing a lerios composition entitled “IT’S A COLORFUL WORLD,” the theme to the DISCOVERY CHANNELS, children’s animated series, “TODDWORLD.” Lerios has also written and produced several network themes, including the musical signature for STARZ, ENCORE, DIRECT TV and the CBS EYE and CBS PRODUCTIONS LOGO, (now running in its 18th year). In short Cory’s credits are extensive* and today you hear his music playing all over the world even though you may not know it!.
In 2007 Lerios executive produced an in house music library comprised of over 4000 music cues written by Lerios and and several collaborators, that is presently accessed exclusively by LIFETIME TELEVISION’S numerous executive producers, directors and editors. Cory has received many awards through the years, from GOLD and PLATINUM RECORDS to several ASCAP and BMI nods, a TELLY and an EMMY for his contribution in music direction for NBC’s “DAYS OF OUR LIVES.”
Today Cory works out of his home studio located in Southern California, CA where he heads up LERICO ENTERTAINMENT. “These days due to some of the unbelievable technology available to composers, songwriters, tv producers and artists in general, there is really no limit to what a creative person can accomplish.
